Ce document est une communication pr\u00e9sent\u00e9e dans le cadre du forum \u00ab Les entreprises en tant que facteur de justice sociale \u00bb organis\u00e9 par l\u2019Institut de d\u00e9veloppement communautaire de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Concordia du 12 au 14 juin 2002.<\/em><\/p>

Dans le discours sur la responsabilit\u00e9 sociale pr\u00f4n\u00e9 par le monde des affaires, on a beaucoup mis l\u2019accent sur la civilit\u00e9 et \u00ab l\u2019esprit chevaleresque \u00bb, plut\u00f4t que sur les droits fondamentaux et la justice universelle. <\/span><\/h3>

Mais la justice n\u2019est pas l\u2019\u00e9quit\u00e9<\/strong>, ni un quelconque processus consistant \u00e0 \u00e9tablir un \u00e9quilibre entre les besoins de l\u2019entreprise et ceux des citoyens et de leurs collectivit\u00e9s. Pour transformer ce discours afin de mettre l\u2019accent sur la qu\u00eate de justice, le mouvement pour la responsabilisation de l\u2019entreprise devra s\u2019engager dans une dynamique qui transcende le consensus poli<\/strong> pr\u00e9valant aujourd\u2019hui au sein m\u00eame de son courant dominant. C\u2019est peut-\u00eatre la Commission sur la responsabilit\u00e9 des entreprises qui illustre le mieux ce consensus, elle dont le document de travail repose sur une d\u00e9finition du \u00ab bien public ou de l\u2019int\u00e9r\u00eat public \u00bb aussi utilitaire que possible : \u00ab \u2026 que le comportement de toutes les institutions de la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 soit conforme aux droits individuels et au bien-\u00eatre d\u2019au moins une majorit\u00e9 de citoyens libres et \u00e9gaux.<\/strong> \u00bb<\/p>
