In 2019, we brought together two organizations doing incredible work to engage youth on the topic of sexual and reproductive health.
While operating in quite different contexts, our long-term counterpart Likhaan Center for Women’s Health in the Philippines, and Island Sexual Health in Victoria, British Columbia work to deliver essential reproductive health services to youth, and make sexual health education more accessible, relevant and fun.
Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, this work has become increasingly difficult. How can youth receive sexual education when schools are closed or ill-equipped? How can youth access reproductive health services when communities are on lockdown? How can the rising rate of teen pregnancies be addressed, when outreach is restricted? In response to these new challenges, Likhaan and Island Sexual Health are adapting and innovating.
Informing youth: Sexual and reproductive health during COVID-19 draws connections between struggles and shares strategies to overcome them.
