CIMICH is a network of Tzeltal, Tzotzil and Ch’ol women and men from the highlands and jungle regions of Chiapas, Mexico. It was launched in 2015. CIMICH was previously supported by Voces Mesoamericanas, another Inter Pares counterpart located in the region, but was able to become institutionally independent in 2023.
CIMICH aims to improve the living conditions of Indigenous peoples in their own communities of origin as well as along the migration route through economic, political, social and cultural projects. An important part of this work involves supporting and strengthening youth and women’s leadership. Increasingly, the organization is promoting the dignified retention and reintegration of Indigenous peoples into their communities of origin through agroecological and community economic initiatives.
