Ruda mujeres + territorio

Ruda was launched in 2017 by members of the Prensa Comunitaria Editorial Board who recognized the need for a digital space dedicated to highlighting women’s struggles and resistance.

Ruda does feminist journalism and research to tell stories, challenge narratives of victimization, and explore different formats in order to dignify women’s lives.

Ruda’s work promotes historical memory, which they keep alive through a multigenerational analysis that illuminates the connections between historical inequities and contemporary challenges affecting Indigenous people and territories, women and girls, the LGBTQI+ community, and others.

In 2023, Ruda became the largest digital media outlet in Guatemala, with over a dozen of correspondents covering stories across 15 provinces.
