As the second anniversary of the devastating war in Sudan approaches, its impacts are staggering.
Since April 2023, 11 million people in Sudan have been internally displaced. Over 3 million people have fled the country. Levels of sexual and gender-based violence have reached an unprecedented level.
Despite this, Sudanese organizations continue their activism and resistance. As do Sudanese women in their daily lives.
In Strength and solidarity in Sudan, two feminist activists from Inter Pares’ counterpart, the Sudanese Organization for Research & Development (SORD), Dr. Asha El-Karib and Ilham Ibrahim, discuss how women in Sudan are navigating the war, and their own organizational and personal survival strategies. The conversation is moderated by the Chair of the Inter Pares Board of Directors, Dr. Amanda Dale.
