Nathalia Santos Ocasio (she/her) is a Latin America Program Manager at Inter Pares. She is a human geographer from Puerto Rico with vast experience in research, project management, art curation and teaching. Her work focuses on art-based resistance in Latin America and the Caribbean using feminist political economy and decoloniality approaches. Nathalia completed a PhD at the Department of Geography & Planning at Queen’s University in 2023. Her research looked at Chilean arpilleras (political textiles) created during the 1973-1990 dictatorship to understand the evolution of women-led practices of resistance around social reproduction, gender-based violence, and resource extraction. Nathalia also curated the exhibition Hilos Conductores (Sur Gallery), which displayed political tapestries to explore Canada-Chile relationships and honour generations of textiles artists who fight neoliberal economics and extractivism. Her work has been published by Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Wiley, Bloomsbury and NACLA.
